Cincinnati Concerto Festival

University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department and Ohio Music Teachers Association • Southwest District are pleased to announce the first annual Cincinnati Concerto Festival. This Festival includes two events catering to area piano students of all ages

The competition for both events will be held on February 25, 2006 at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. The deadline for entering is December 3, 2005 (see other dates here).

Quartet Competition

A concerto competition for any piano student in our region who wishes to prepare one or more movements from one of four set pieces which range in difficulty from early elementary to early advanced. Maximum age limits are set for each division.

Students will compete (without second piano accompaniment) for awards and the chance to play with a string quartet in a Winner’s Recital.

Cincinnati Piano Concerto Competition for advanced pianists

A concerto competition for any (high-school aged) advanced pianist who prepares a movement from a standard piano concerto. Two levels are offered. In the first level, contestant must choose from a set repertoire list. The second level is open to any standard concerto.

The top winner from each level will perform twice with the Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra! Second prize winners will perform on a Winner’s Recital with second piano.

March 18 and 19, 2006   Winners Concerts for the Concerto Competition: 7:30 p.m. March 18 at Clermont College Krueger Auditorium, 3:00 p.m. March 19 at CCM Corbett Auditorium.
