Event format

• Students enter one memorized work or movement in one of six levels, determined by the repertoire. A repertoire list is available for guidance.


• Each entrant receives a ribbon, corresponding to their performance rating; a superior rating also earns a trophy.


• Auditions are closed; participants appear before one adjudicator.

• Judges choose 5–10 performers from each level to perform again in the televised Honors Recitals.


• Entrants must have studied with their current teacher for a minimum of six calendar months.
